Amazing Art Produced During Science Research

In the spring of 2006 we asked the Princeton University community to submit images - and, for the first time, videos and sounds - produced in the course of research or incorporating tools and concepts from science. Out of nearly 150 entries from 16 departments, we selected 56 works to appear in the 2006 Art of Science exhibition."

Have We Met? (2% of the Population May Be Incapable of Facial Recogniton)

We all know that sinking feeling that comes when we just can't remember someone who clearly recognizes us. So imagine how uncomfortable life might be for a person incapable of recognizing anyone--even a close friend or relative--by face alone. Preliminary results from a recent survey suggest that up to 2% of the general population may be afflicted by this condition, known as prosopagnosia or face blindness.
